Houses in your birth chart

Your personal house wheel depends on the eastern horizon and local meridian at the exact moment and coordinates of birth. Even a short time difference can move the cusps.

Start with the four angles

The Ascendant begins the first house, the Descendant the seventh, the Midheaven marks the upper meridian, and the IC its opposite. These anchors organize the chart’s most personal axes.

Read occupied and empty houses

A planet in a house draws attention to that area of life. An empty house is not absent or doomed; its cusp sign and ruling planet still describe how its topics operate.

Accuracy depends on birth time

If the birth time is unknown, houses should be omitted. Using noon as a hidden substitute would create a confident-looking but arbitrary house chart.
